Dear Bereaved Parent,

By any other name…

Ever wonder why parents whose children have died don’t have a special designation like widow/widower or orphan? I have.

And then I looked up the definitions.

A widow/widower is someone whose spouse has died, and they have not remarried. A child is considered an orphan until they turn 18. These are potentially changing or temporary designations.

A bereaved parent is forever.

With Love,

Mary Anne
